Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9th, 1976 in Beaumont Puy of Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents, who are a dental doctor and teacher in a school were supportive and encouraged by her early love for drama as well as theatre. Her initial dream to become a master monkey was replaced by a desire to pursue a degree in theater and drama. The rise was swift for her to become an internationally renowned young actress. The beginning of her career came in 1999, the year she first began performing professionally. Following her studies Tautou was a participant in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, attended church as a young girl and was raised Catholic. However she is now separating herself from her Catholic upbringing. Modeling and acting have been interspersed. She became the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and she is often known as The Chanel Muse. She also has a serious photographic passion and has recently presented an exhibit of her work for the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. Her photographs are largely about famous people and celebrities. The exhibit also includes self-portraits in addition. Audrey Tautou's worldwide popularity and success exploded following her appearance as Amelie Poulain's lead lady in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and has been lauded at numerous award festivals around the globe. It is the top-grossing French film to be released in the United States. Following this massive success, Tautou was later cast in numerous films, which included British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
