Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for the Olympic contest. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was six years old. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she was crowned champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she was awarded three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she became an the all-around junior champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals at her debut competition as a senior which took place in the year 1975. This was the first time she had competed as an adult. She was the first woman to ever successfully complete a backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field performing as figure skater. Along with her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her career as an entertainer as a teen. She began her professional career by performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment shows Ice Capades. They featured dramatic skating on ice shows.
